January TBR (Related to Books).

So what’s up? It’s been a long time since I blogged and I am back to blogging. Last year was on and off for me as I was mentally stressed and also an emotional train wreck but this year is going to be better ( *MANIFESTATIONS* ). I am so excited to be back.

So you ask me, what will be new this year? And I answer that I am bringing in series reviews, K-drama and K-pop reviews, book reviews, regular bookish updates and so much more! But for now, let’s get on with this new year’s new month and the new TBR it brings that I might or might not complete.

So let’s get into it, shall we???

This month I am planning to read 14 books (if I can). Most of them are small and also are audiobooks but some of them are also huge and will take me time to complete because I do have my exams too in February and March. I will be trying my best to complete as many books as I can.

The books in my January To Be Read List are:

In the last year as in 2022, I was reading A Series of Unfortunate Events Series consisting of 13 books and I am remaining with the last 3 books in this series. I am aiming to complete them this month so that I can start a nice new series. This series is also good and it is also fun to read but it did get quite repetitive that slowed down my reading place quite a bit. I am listening to their audio books so hopefully, I will complete it soon.

Death Note Volume 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12.

Pic credit to Crunchyroll.

I started reading manga comics to pass time easily and what series could be better than Death Note for a newbie?? I just completed Volume 5 about two days ago and now I am intending to complete as many books as I can in the next month. No limits, like 1 book or 2, I will be reading however I feel like because these books are just for fun.

The Chronicles of Narnia book 7; The Last Battle.

Once again, I started this series last year and was aiming to complete it that year but work came up and so did festivals and celebrations, so this last book got delayed and now I want to complete it this month. I have been crazy about Narnia and reading this series makes me feel so cozy. I am so sad that this will be the last book but I am glad that I will be done with yet another series that sat in my TBR for years.

Red White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston.

This book has been on my TBR for so damn long! I have been getting threats to read it and if I don’t read it now. One person or the other might actually kill me so I added it to my January TBR and not just trying to complete it, I will have to complete it unless I want to die. The reviews of this book are quite nice and people do love reading the book (except for the political part), it is a royal romance so I will be reading it with zero expectations.

The Therapist by B.A. Paris.

1 thriller is definitely needed in my TBR, like how can I live without a mind bending mystery?? So the therapist will be doing the job of filling that missing element in my TBR. This book is a gift from a friend who keeps on torturing me to read it and if I don’t, I will lose my sanity so I will try to complete this book too.

The Heroes Of Olympus Series Book 2; The Son of Neptune by Rick Riordan.

I am reading the entire Percy Jackson Series, with all the sub-series and everything and this book is the Book 2 of The Heroes Of Olympus series. I want to complete this book too because I ended up taking a break after completing book 1 of the series. I needed some time off the series and wanted to spice things up a bit so started reading other small books. I will be reading the entire series of Percy Jackson this year so you can sit and wait for the updates and also reviews of the books.

My bookstagram friend and I are playing 5 Series and 5 Standalone challenges where both of us give each other 5 series to read and 5 stand-alone books to read. I am going to be covering the 1st standalone and start the 1st series given by her to me in this challenge this month. I have got the audiobook for Shatter Me and I am trying to find the audiobook for From Lukov With Love.

I did the challenge with a lot of my friends so I will be posting their challenges every week in January for you to see the books that I will be reading throughout the year.

Pumpkin Heads by Rainbow Rowell.

Yet another standalone given to me by my bestie in the 5 Series and 5 Standalone Challenge. I will be reading this book in the next few days. It’s a graphic novel so it won’t be that tough to finish it.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling.

My third friend’s challenge is to read The Harry Potter series, I do condemn what JK Rowling did so I decided not to buy the books and fill her pocket with my money but instead, I will be listening to the audiobook on YouTube. As it’s a challenge and at one point in my life I did love HP, I don’t want to reject the challenge to read it. I will be reading it but there will be no review about the book or any other update on it.

The Crooked House by Agatha Christie.

I am buddy-reading this with my two very good friends and the people who challenged me to read hard books. Agatha Christie is a soothing yet making you sit at the edge of your seat author who I enjoy reading so damn much! This book will be like the cool breeze after so many romances that I don’t enjoy reading much.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

The last book in my January TBR is The Night Circus. This book is being read for The January BookWorm and Wormies Bookclub. I will be hosting the discussion and do have the paperback so I decided to read it and I actually look forward to it a bit. It is a huge book so I will be starting it in the coming week to complete it in time for the discussion.

So these are my January Books that I will be trying my Best to complete and if I actually end up completing them, I will get shocked and also super motivated for February. I will be posting and updating everyone through story posts and all that. Please do keep an eye out for my posts.

Also if you have read the Shatter Me Series, please tell me how it is in the comments.

  1. That’s the book stuff, but what about the life stuff? Did I miss a post where you tell us where you went to live and what your life is like now? I for one would be keen to know. Happy New Year, Suzan.

    1. Hi Pete, Long Time! I am making the life post but as my life in the past year was quite messed up… it’s very hard for me to write it. I will post it this month, just don’t know when.

How are you and how is life??

      1. 2022 was a bad year. I had medical tests for cancer, (clear so far) and then got Covid-19 in December, so Christmas was ruined. Now I am recovering slowly from that. xx

  3. Hi Suzan! I hope you’re doing great! I love your TBR for January and so happy that you’ll read Red, White, and Royal Blue as it’s one of my favorite books of all time. I hope you love it. I liked the romance but I did enjoy the political bits too. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
