The Rapid Fire || Book Tag.

Hey people, how is life going??? How is everything??? So my life is a little messy right now so I can’t blog properly as some huge decisions are being discussed and might be carried out soon. These decisions will impact my life a lot and it means that I need to pay more attention to life than here so I apologize for my inconsistency but as you can see I took some time and here I am, back to blogging and I thought of doing a book tag as it has been a long time since I did it. So without any further ado, let’s start, shall we???

1. E-book or Physical Books???

I prefer physical books as my eyes pain a lot if I use my phone and I am in no mood to buy a kindle. I don’t know why but I don’t like reading books on my phone or any electronic device. I feel reading can be originally enjoyed with a book and a cup of coffee😘😍.

2. Paperback or Hardback???

Paperbacks or hardcovers…it doesn’t matter as long as it is in my hand and I can smell it and touch it but if the book is too big like a lot of pages then I would prefer paperback as hardcover would be too big and heavy.

3. Online or In-Store Book Shopping???

I prefer in-store shopping and book fairs as I can pick books in my hand touch them feel them read a page or two and then buy the book if I feel like it. I can even experiment as I see the book and read a few pages.

4. Trilogies or Series???

Trilogies…I think because I have never even read series, not a trilogy. I am like reading the Asylum trilogy and it’s only 3 books so I am enjoying the books a lot and it’s fast-paced and on point not stretching much so yeah trilogies for me.

5. Heroes or Villains???

I think I like none of them…I am more of the plot girl but if I have to choose 1 of them then it would be heroes as they are intriguing and we can see their development throughout the book but sometimes authors forget to develop the villains so heroes it is!!!

6. A book you want everyone to read???

I have two books; 1984 BY GEORGE ORWELL, this book changed my whole perspective on society and the government. I loved it more than my entire life and number 2; ARISTOTLE AND DANTE DISCOVER THE SECRETA OF THE UNIVERSE BY BENJAMIN ALIREZ SAENZ, this book is so beautiful and it has such a nice message in it that I love it a lot. The friendship, the writing, everything is so nice. It’s a must read for everyone.

7. Recommend an underrated book???

I recommend 2 books that are underrated but seriously must-read. Home Life by Alice Thomas Ellis and The Nargun and The Stars by Patricia Wrightson. These 2 books are amazing. They are just so beautiful and nicely written that I can’t get over them. Do check them out.

8. The last book you finished???

THE DA VINCE CODE BY DAN BROWN!!!! Yesss, you heard it, people. I am at last done with that 604 pages book and I loved it a lot. It was awesome and had so much Christianity that I was intrigued reading it because I have studied it in Africa and it was so so fun.

9. The last book you bought???

The last book I ordered was The Sanctum by Madeleine Roux. This book is the second in the Asylum Trilogy and I have finished reading it and it was mind-bending and super spooky. I will be reviewing the trilogy very soon so be ready for that.

10. Weirdest thing you have used as a bookmark???

My phone. I tried to use my phone as a bookmark and that didn’t turn out well. As the book was big, when I put my phone on top of the pages and parallel to both pages, the book tried shutting throwing my phone in the ground and denting it. It was the worst and weirdest thing I used as I faced not only loss but I felt like an idiot too🤣.

11. Used books: Yes or No???

I love pre-loved books a lot and that has been causing me a lot of problems these days as lots of my friends think that I should buy some latest and new books and I also feel that because the latest releases are not available pre-loved and that makes me stay away from them so I might buy some new books too but yes, I loved used books.

12. Top three favourite genres???

My top 3 fav genres are Thrillers, Horror, and Fantasy…yes you read it right. These days I have been reading fantasy books with my friend, Mahalekshmi meaning @ Fantasy_land___, yeah you hear her a lot in my blog because she is my awesome friend who is a fantasy lover.

13. Borrow or Buy???

I prefer buying as I own the book and there is no deadline in reading and returning the book. Also as I own the book I can hug it and cry or laugh as the book’s genre is.

14. Characters or Plot???

Plot. I love reading books based on plot and I don’t think a horror genre can be developed like you can’t develop a ghost…it’s a ghost but you can develop the characters getting terrified of it. So I think the plot is more important for me.

15. Long or Short Books???

Short books. I think a short book under 300 pages is easier to finish and you don’t need the motivation to do that…it took me 6 people’s motivation and 2 years to complete a 607 pages Da Vince Code.

16. Long or Short Chapters???

Short chapters, it has the same theory, short chapters motivate me to read more of them and make me feel like the book is so short and also helps in reading long books.

17. Name the first three books you think of…

1984 by George Orwell (my all-time favorite), Good Omens by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman (my next read for Omnilegent Bookclub), and Kim Jiyoung; Born 1984 by Chu Nam Joo (my next read for Buddy-TOB Bookclub).

18. Books that make you laugh or cry???

Home Life by Alice Thomas Ellis made me laugh like hell and Autobiography Of Death made me cry like hell.

19. Our World or Fictional Worlds???

I prefer a fictional world, our world is not so good to live in for me. It’s full of sadness and death, I need a break from all this. My mental health is not good because of the recent deaths in my house so would love to live in a fictional world.

20. Audiobooks: Yes or No???

No, at least not for now. I don’t like listening to the books as I get distracted very easily.

21. Do you ever judge a book by its cover???

I don’t look at the cover when I buy a book. I read the synopsis and the reviews about that book so I dislike the fact that some people judge a book by its cover.

22. Book to Movie or Book to TV Series???

Book to TV Series as we can get a second season of the series and I prefer watching a book recreated in a series to get to see multiple parts of it and enjoy it properly, a movie can be of max 1 hour but a series can be turned into maximum parts and the details can be nicely shown.

23. A movie or TV-Show you preferred to its book???

The Haunting Of Bly Manor is better in the book than in the series as I felt the series was lacking a lot of major details.

24. Series or Standalones???

These days I have started reading series and to be honest, I prefer them more as they have a proper build-up of characters and their development is nicely done, the scenarios are nicely created and there is always something more to read.

So that’s it for today. I hope you enjoyed this book Tag. I loved doing it. I know I am inconsistent again but I will get back on track soon. It might take me some time but it will happen so until then…
