Salik lives in the beautiful valley of Kashmir. Life takes a turn when he had to flee Kashmir due to some tough circumstances. This novel is for all of those who are seeking some meaning in their lives. And it is also a story of all the experiences we face in this life, including separation, pain, longing, and a constant search for a place which feels like home. The story of a boy Salik, who ends up leaving his family and his lover Fatimah, embarks on a journey of discovery and encapsulates many mysteries. Fatimah and his life is also a reflection of the deep love they share. It’s also a memoir of how they go through the struggle of separation. After decades of distance and wanderings, how does the life of Salik unfold?
Amazon: 🌟4.4/5 Stars🌟.Taken from the respective sources
This book just touched my heart and I couldn’t stop reading it. I loved the story and the characters in this novel. Salik and Fatimah’s love story touched my heart so badly that I believe in everlasting love now. Love doesn’t need to get bounded in a relationship to last forever. I am so surprised and proud of this author. The places were described so elegantly in the novel but I somehow felt that in some places the author overdid the descriptions and that somehow bored me but still the story had me hooked and I finished it in one sit. I couldn’t stop crying at the ending and needed consolation. I was touched by how the author carved the story around such controversial matters and still didn’t write anything that could offend someone. For me this story won my heart when in the ending Fatimah’s feelings were described too, the author could end the novel on Salik’s feelings but he went ahead and showed Fatimah’s feelings too and there and then he won my heart. I will surely remember this author’s name for a really long time and can’t wait to read his second book. Hats off to him.
So that’s it for today. I hope you loved this review. I will be back soon with one more review and hope you all are safe and sound. Take care and see you soon, until then…
