Heir Of Lies || Empire Book Tour ~ Book Marathon Review 8.

Hello, people of the beautiful earth. I am back again with a great post and I am so stuck with exams that I can’t even tell you. My college just announced that we will be having exams in 10 days and I am dying with the studies pressure. I don’t know what I am doing right now but let’s just say that if I die, I blame the Indian education system. A big rant blog will be out where I will be talking about the pressure that the system has put on a student during Covid. In other countries, governments are trying to relax the students and in my dearest countries, it’s just the opposite. Well, let me just start this review before I burst in anger and panic. Let’s go, people.

So I got this book from Empire Book Tours to read and review on Instagram and I just finished reviewing the first and also the second book in the series and the review of that book will be out soon. So let’s just start this review, shall we???

I sincerely thank Mallory McCartney and Empire Book Tours for providing this opportunity in exchange for an honest review.

“Hope was a dangerous thing. It could consume every dream and make them take flight, becoming wild daydreams in one’s heart and mind. Or hope could incinerate everything you thought you knew, burning you down to your core, leaving you raw and exposed for the world.”

Emory Fae has only known one thing–life at The Academy, a school for those who have special abilities. Following in her parents’ footsteps, the pressure to uphold their dream falls on her and one of her best friends–Adair Stratton. An outcast and feared by most, Adair longs to break away from the expectations dictating his future. With whispers of dark magic spreading across Kiero, Adair starts to doubt The Academy is all it seems. An unexpected visit ignites new tensions as the roguish king from across the Black Sea, Tadeas Maher of the Shattered Isles, and his heir, Marquis Maher, sail to Kiero. Notorious for their pirating and wrath, for the first time in years, they demand the Faes listen to their proposition for a new treaty. Caught in the middle of politics, Adair and Emory, with the help of their best friends Brokk and Memphis, search for the one thing that matters the most–the truth.

Their world is tipped upside down as unlikely alliances are made, and war ravages Kiero. Through the throes of betrayal, lies, hidden magic, and love, Adair is faced with a life changing decision. Will he fight or bow to the darkness within? But, Adair’s decision will change the course of Kiero forever, setting in motion irreversible destinies for everyone at The Academy as Emory Fae rises as heir.

Heir of Lies is the first book in the bestselling Black Dawn series.

•My Review.

I loved the book and the characters in it. My favourite were Brokk and Memphis although all of them were awesome, the friendship of these two characters caught me and made me fall in love with them in the initial chapters. The story was a bit slow for me and I was a little confused too but the concept of the novel was really intriguing. The elements and writing style of this novel was excellent. The plot was thick and I did find it a little bumpy but the story hooked me up nicely. I am having a book hangover since I finished this book and can’t wait to read the 2nd book. The reason I cut 1 star was that the novel was a little slow and confusing for me. The start was a little bumpy but I still loved the novel. I will be keeping my eyes out for this author’s other novels.

So that’s it for today. I hope you loved this review. I will be back soon with one more review and hope you all are safe and sound. Take care and see you soon, until then…
