My Summary:

Drawing in the class gets Brad into trouble with his teacher and parents. His parents take all his drawings and sketch pens because his brother backstabs him. When a crow brings Brad a magical pen, in anger he draws a monster that’s main aim is to destroy his younger brother Daley. The magic pen brings the monster alive and the monster starts planning to destroy Daley and it’s up to Brad to stop him before the monster attacks.

•My Review.

This book was mind-blowing. I loved it so much. It’s one of my favourites in the fantasy genre. The concept was fantastic. The writing was awesome. I loved each and every character that the author presented. This story is so fresh and unique. A boy loves drawing and he gets into trouble for it. This portrays the reality of schools, you are never allowed to do anything of your own choice. The only thing the school wants you to do is study and when a boy breaks the rule, he is punished. That anger leads him into drawing a dangerous monster for his young backstabbing brother and then starts the funny and weird journey to rescue Daley after the monster comes alive. This gets crazier. The author illustrates his character’s love for drawing very easily and smoothly. I must say that this book is my favourite Juvenile Fiction. Don’t go on its cover and say it’s childish because inside the cover lies a crazy story full of love, adventure and monsters.

On that note, I would like to end this review saying that this book is a must-try. It is worth a whole day of book club discussion and its pretty obvious why I gave 5 stars. This book wasn’t too stretched or short, just perfect. No loopholes nothing wrong. It was a perfect 5-star worthy book. I wish there is a second book.

So that’s it for today. I hope you liked this review. I am really looking forward to a second book from this author and I think you should try it too. I will take your leave but until next time…

a blog post or vice-versa? My blog discusses a lot of the same
subjects as yours and I believe we could greatly benefit from each other.
If you might be interested feel free to shoot

  4. You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic
to be really something that I think I would never understand.
It seems too complicated and very broad for me.
I am looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang
    of it!
