US…MOSTLY ||GIFTED BOOK REVIEW.

Good morning my dear weird book nerds, how are you this lovely morning?? Well I know it’s different time zones around the world but who cares?? We are all stuck in Covid-19 and we all deserve a good greet. I am so excited to be back with a great post. It’s review time, people!! Oh, books. The more we read the more we fall in love with them. I can’t stay on a day without reading a page, even in my reading slump, I still read at least one page. It’s like essential for my body to work. So here I come with one new book review. So without any further ado, let me introduce you to this book.

As you all should know, this post is a part of the interview set that I have been doing on Laila Bhaidani, the author of this book. So before I start the blog, let me place the links for those who haven’t read the first 2 posts of this interview.

“What happens when the love that you are waiting for all your life, mistakes you for someone else? Can a transgender ever have an everlasting love story? How is the life of a 50- yr old woman who requires permission to pee everyday?

‘Us…Mostly’ is a collection of stories of the life of the ordinary people like you and me. It is the twist of fate, the choices they make, the chances they take, and the intricacies of their emotions that makes these ordinary characters around us live an
extraordinary life

These stories are in between the realms of right and wrong, black and white. It is about those human emotions that cannot be classified into stringent compartments and judged by stereotype moral standards. It is an ode to our love, our desires, our dreams, and our difficulties that shapes each one of us into something we never thought we could become.”

•My Summary.

Different kind of stories consisting of different emotions is what this book is all about. An old lady struggling to pee every day because of Arthritis. A lost love reappears just to reopen old wounds. Love turned into marriage yet knowing that one has to die soon. A child’s emotions being played with because of greed and hatred. Every pain turned into a story and every story brings out the pain. This is exactly what Us…Mostly is!!

•My Ratings.

•My Review.

I don’t have words to say about this book. This was my first mix genre book and trust me, I loved it. I cried so many times and felt a different pain every time I turned the page to enter a new story. Each concept brought out each painful element in our lives. Selfishness, greed, pure love, lost love and tears…lots and lots of tears. This book talks about the Transgender people, the love of two pure souls, the hero turned devil when he gets drunk. These stories are a treasure for me because I remember each and every one of them. My most favourite book that made me burst into tears and smile at the same time.

The writing style was awesome and it had a tinge of Indian style in it to make it look all homely. The concept, well, if you have read the paragraph then you must know that the concept was great. This book hasn’t given me a chance to write anything bad about it except one thing; it got over very soon. I wanted more and more of this book and yet it got over. I was sad and tearful but happy to have an author in my family who writes books so beautiful that I could go around showing off proudly.

In the end, all I will say is this book has every Indian aspect and a very pretty concept that I expect from a book. You guys think I am just writing this to promote my sister’s story but I dare you to buy the book and read it then judge me because I loved the book even though I hate romance novels. Just try it and then tell me. Here I am providing you all the link to check it out. Go ahead and check it.

    1. Thanks, Kim. I also have a mixed history with short stories but this one was quite different. I hope you enjoy this book whenever you read it. It emphasizes on the behaviour towards women and also talks about pure true love. I am damn sure that you will love it.
