BOOKISH FRIDAY || READING TIME (3).

Hello, my dearest friends. How are you today?? How’s quarantine going?? I know I haven’t been blogging for a few days. Well, blame Covid-19 for that and somehow my allergies too. I will tell you all everything and even show you this week’s reads. I am very excited because ‘ ITS HARRY POTTER BOOKS MARATHON’ and also because I have some crazy stuff coming up. Oh, Harry Potter. The only guy I actually adore in the whole world and that because I haven’t found anybody else as adorable as him. So without any further ado, let’s start with today’s post, shall we???

Ok so before I talk about books, I will tell you why I went MIA. The reason is valid and true so not making up stuff. I hate to stay away from my blog, people. Don’t judge me.

Why was I MIA??

Coronavirus has destroyed my life totally. You ask why?? Due to a lot of cases in my city Ahmedabad, we have a lockdown curfew. Nobody is allowed out of the house. Not even in the balcony. So my dad is at home and there is only 1 thing to say about him and that is ‘Mess Maker.’ He is a true mess maker and now that he doesn’t do downstairs to sit with friends, I have become a non-paid cleaner and with that, my parents had brought scented hand sanitizers that erupted my allergies so bad that I couldn’t stop coughing and my headache turned into a terrible migraine burst. I can say my life sucks😭😭😭. Yesterday I was ordering books because some areas of my city are open to order books. So I am ordering them at my relative’s house because this quarantine will go on for A LONG TIME.

So those are the reasons I couldn’t blog. I hope you all are safe though. I will try not to go MIA but it seems impossible now. So let’s get started with the post, shall we??

Readers, let me explain the format of the post to you. I will first write about the books I read, then about the books, I am currently reading and then I will tell you what I wish to read next and then I will wrap up my week.

What I read???

What’s Your Problem? by Frank Daley.

I love Sherlock Holmes a lot and anybody who knows me should know that too. With this book, I had a huge problem, first of all, this book was not anywhere near common sense a normal human possesses and it is definitely not the kind of book I like to read. I wasted 50 minutes of my life trying to finish it. Well, I couldn’t finish. I did give it a try though. It was a disaster.

Dorothy In The Land Of Monsters by Garten Gevedon.

I at last finished this book. I won’t say much about it because I have to write a review on this one. I will say one thing. Waiting for the next book in this Revamped series so as I wait for the next book, you wait for the review. 😊✌

The Tales Of Beedle The Bard by J.K Rowling.

I am reading Harry Potter, how do you expect me not to read a book related to it. I downloaded the free pdf of this book and trust me I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have decided to do a special review on it, after all, it’s HARRY POTTER STORIES😍😍😍😍.

Do you have any other Harry Potter books to recommend???

So those are all the books I read this week. Come on, let me show you what I am reading right now.

What am I reading???

Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling.

I am almost halfway through this book and oh I am loving it. The only thing I feel sad about is that I miss the hardcover books that I had back then. The smell of the book is lost but I can’t believe I am reading it again. It’s such a beautiful novel. I still remember the old times and I am replaying them today. I can’t believe that I don’t remember half of the details that I had read. I only remember the ones in the movies. That’s so bad and I feel like I ain’t a good Potterhead😞😔

Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift.

Oh, I am still trying to finish my O.W.L.s readathon. I am reading slower than usual and this is a book I highly doubt if I might like so I am still waiting to finish other books. I am having second doubts on this book but let’s see. 😊

What I will be reading in future???

Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets by J.K. Rowling

SECOND BOOK!!!! I can’t believe I am reading Harry Potter. It so feels like the old times. I am loving all this. It feels so relaxing. I might start this on maybe Wednesday or Thursday but I really want to take it slow and make the most out of this lovely month.

Lost Girl (A Shelby Day Novel) by Holly Kammier.

The last book in my O.W.L.s readathon and I have high anticipations for this book. It’s a mystery so I love it more. I hope to start it soon enough and finish it sooner.

Let’s Wrap-Up people.

Weekly Wrap-Up:

I had a chaotic week. I read through it but it was a dangerous week for me and my family. I had that tingling feeling that I usually get when I feel danger coming around. I have this ability since childhood. It is a tingling feeling in my gut that helps me sense danger or find out that my family’s taken decision is stupid before even knowing the consequence of the decision or seeing the danger come. I knew about the curfew before it even happened and we started filling in the missing items in my house.

My allergy burst was a danger I didn’t sense because I was already feeling the tingling. I thought it was a curfew but it turned out curfew and allergy together. I read 3 books and had a very productive week. I loved the reading time and enjoyed getting lost in Hogwarts. The last line to complete with is:

My week was in turmoil with a little hope and lots of magic from Hogwarts.

So that’s it, folks. I am going MIA a lot these days but life isn’t easy in a curfew lockdown with messy father, bursting allergies and book shopping. I hope you all had a great week and are all safe and sound. I hope to be back soon with everyday posts. For now, I say Sayonara, people.

  1. I also have an allergy to fragrance. Perfumes give me a sore throat and make me sneeze, as do room fragrances, after shaves and deodorants. Happy reading Suzan, and I hope you’re allowed out soon.

    1. I have severe allergic reactions. The thing is that I didn’t know I had the allergy. I did have some hint before and had visited the doctor 3 times. He said it was a start of some sort of allergy but didn’t know which one, he gave me meds and before I could do a check-up, lockdown happened. I am still in pain after 7 days of it. I can barely talk. Do you have any idea how to stop this?? Thanks for the wishes, Stevie. I do hope you are okay. How’s everything??

      1. I’m fine, thanks Suzan. I would say that you’d need an allergy test to find out exactly what you’re allergic to and then you can cut it out. Have you any idea what might be causing your sore throat?

        1. I can’t go out, it’s super dangerous and if I even cough a little, the police will drag me to quarantine for the allergies. I have started having skin rashes too and severe headaches. It’s an allergy that’s for sure because I consulted a doctor online and he confirmed it. The smell is making me sneeze too much so maybe that’s why I have a sore throat. 😞😤✌

          1. Does your house always have the windows open? Maybe an allergy to pollen like hayfever? Hayfever can cause a scratchy throat, itchy eyes and sneezing. Have you tried anti-histamines?

            1. The windows are open here because it’s very hot, it’s almost 40 degrees here. I am on antihistamines and they are doing good right now. I am also doing ayurvedic medication. I hope I get better soon. 😞😤

  2. Strong fragrances are a major migraine trigger for me as well Suzan. I hope the upcoming week is better for you.

BTW, if you haven’t read them yet, I recommend Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and Quidditch Through the Ages, as part of your Harry Potter reading.

    1. My allergy hasn’t subdued. I am still in constant pain and sneezing like hell. Do you recommend anything to get me out of this??

Thank you so much for the recommendations. I read Quidditch Through the Ages and I just started Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, they are amazing books. I love them. Got any other to recommend??

      Stay Safe, cutie❤✌😊

      1. So sorry. I take an OTC called Zyrtec which works on indoor and outdoor allergies, but I don’t know if it’s available there.

        1. It’s okay and you were right, it’s not available here. I gotta see something else. I have started getting skin rashes and headaches. 😭😭😞

  3. I have never read any Harry Potter books. Schoolboys and wizards are just not my thing.
I hope that your gut-tingling goes away soon, so that nothing else bad happens.
    Best wishes, Pete. xx

    1. Oh My God!!! Never??? Like really never??? Harry Potter is just not about schoolboys and wizards Pete. It’s about love, friendship, honesty, truth and your loyalty towards the truth. It’s about the magic that happens when you follow the path of truth. When you read harry potter, you find out that there is more than knowledge and wit that is needed to survive this harsh world and that is love, bravery, honesty and most importantly friendship. I don’t mind you not reading it but I do want to tell you that it is not a world favourite because it’s about magic but its a world favourite because it’s about how truth succeeds every time there is a battle between what’s right and wrong. It teaches so much to us. it’s like The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. It looks like a bug story but it has a deep hidden meaning. Won’t force you to try it but just consider this once, Pete.

      1. Er, comparing Kafka to Rowling? 🙂
I’m sticking with Schoolboys and Wizards! 🙂 🙂 xx

        1. Ouch, Petey. Kafka did write a great book but Rowling ain’t no less than him. I had to compare them to tell you about them. You stick to that meanwhile I am getting a diploma in Hogwarts O.W.L.s exam. 😜😂
