This can’t be happening, please tell me it’s a joke. The man I grew up watching, the actor I tried to copy for talent shows, the man whose movies’ songs would make me dance even in public passed away!!! Why?? This year is turning out to be a disaster. Two deaths in a row. First my favourite actor Irrfan Khan then Rishi Kapoor…this year will be written as the black year in the history of India. I can’t take it anymore. πππ
I wake up to a happy day and as I thought that I will write later on my blog, I open the news to find this headline on the top.

To all those who don’t know him, Let me introduce him to all of you:

Rishi Kapoor (4 September 1952 β 30 April 2020) was an Indian actor, director and producer known for his work in Hindi cinema. He received the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his debut role in his father Raj Kapoor’s 1970 film Mera Naam Joker. He had his first lead role as an adult, opposite Dimple Kapadia, in the film Bobby (1973), and won the Filmfare Best Actor Award in 1974.

He played leading roles as the romantic lead in 92 films between 1973 and 2000. For his performance in Do Dooni Chaar, he won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor in 2011, and for his role in Kapoor & Sons, he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2017. He was honoured with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008. He appeared opposite his wife Neetu Singh (married 1980) in twelve films between 1973 and 1981. He died on 30 April 2020 from complications of bone marrow cancer, aged 67.

He left us with nothing but memories and teary eyes. I can’t stop thinking about him. He gave us films we can never forget. My personal favourites were Bobby and Hum Tum. He starred in more than 100 movies so I may be forgetting a dozen of my favourites. Here are the photos of my favourite movies.

I clearly remember falling in love with his character in Hum Tum and bewakoofiyan and Chandni. The songs in Bobby movie can make me dance even today. Ughhh I loved this man. πππ Today I feel so heartbroken and the worst part of all this is that he died of the same cancer that I had. This just opens up all my old wounds. I feel so terrible he lost his life fighting Leukaemia blood cancer.
He was a legend, is a legend and will always be a legend. His death has shaken my family from the roots and unwounded some bad memories of my life. I hope he rests in peace and I will miss him and his new movies that were going to come soon dearly.
That’s it for today. I am extremely sad and hurt by recent events. Two deaths in a row and that too because of cancer, I won’t be posting anything today. My today’s post will be out tomorrow. Take care and be safeβ
