First books, OMG!!! They are the Best books on earth because they are the first to introduce us to the magical universe. It’s beautiful. Every first time for all readers is beautiful and mesmerizing and so was mine. My feelings for books is way different than any of you might have had. I have a real big touching point with books and maybe that makes it special between us. I cry, laugh, jump, shout and end up sighing because I didn’t read a book that day. Books are readers life and so are they mine. ‘Till death do us apart’ this is what a fellow blogger told me when I told her about my love of books. So allow me to take you on a thrilling journey of how and when I started reading and what exactly intrigued me.

Hello and welcome to my blog: Magical BookLush.
As most of you know, I have been sick for a few days and have been trying to mend my body. While mending it I had to avoid books due to headaches and eye pains but I used to read a little comics. When I started reading a comic that I will be reviewing soon, my mind wandered off to thoughts so far away and suddenly before I knew, this draft had its name written in capital letters;
MY FIRST BOOK.
My journey to reading books was very dramatic but magical and that’s the exact reason why I named this blog Magical BookLush. I will explain everything in detail today.
So let’s start, shall we?

Books books books. Ugh can’t live without them, can’t live with them. Exams don’t let me live with them and their words and beautiful imaginations can’t make me live without them.
My first book was an interesting concept and my first step to responsibility. I would love to share my story with you all about my love of books.

P2P aka primary 2 P(sub-division) Aga Khan Primary school, Kampala Uganda, the place where it all began.
I was a really scared and outcasted child because of reasons unknown but nobody liked me. I was I don’t even remember how many years old. I had the worst teacher on earth named Mrs Molly, she was wicked as hell and hated me for sure. I was used to the hatred by teachers and students but was quite lonely too.

My first day at school was the most beautiful day of my life because on that day we had to go to the library in our second period. All the children were told to stand in a line, we all walked towards the lunch area where the library was located with our hands back.
I was standing at the back of the line as usual. We all halted outside the library and waited for the teacher to arrive, when she arrived and opened the library door…
All the children entered in a line and so did I. When I entered, I was stunned for a few minutes, books… Books…BOOKS.🤤🤤

The library was big and the books were beautiful. Lined in A-Z, big and small, huge and thin all sorts of books were just on the shelves. It was magical. While I was drooling and staring at the books the teacher announced that we can take one book at home and we have to return it next week. I was dancing with joy in my heart. “I will read one of these beautiful coloured books????” This was my thought. The nice librarian came to me and asked which book I want to take home. I didn’t know, I was confused.
I went to the shelf and picked up a book about cows and calves. I told her I want to read this and she signed it on my name. I don’t remember the name of that book but I do remember the tragic incident that happened right after that period.
We left the library and went back to the class. I put the book in my bag and went for recess and when I came back, I opened my bag to read the book and it was wet😔.

My water bottle had leaked and the book was wet. One of the girls in the classroom told the teacher about it and Mrs Molly caned me. The students were laughing at me and I hated books for doing this to me. My mother was called and informed about this incident and she fought with the teacher for beating me when it wasn’t my fault that the book was wet or the water bottle was leaking. My mom was angry and the principal tried to calm her down. I was crying.
My mom calmed down after some time and decided to replace the wet book with a dry and nice book. The first book my parents bought was;
Peter Pan.

I had to return it after the Easter vacation so the book was at my house. I first despised it and wouldn’t read it but the cover attracted me to it. I was bored one day just sitting watching Jack and the pirates on Disney XD. I switched off the tv and went to my room, the book was on my table. I looked at it and sighed, after a lot of confusion, I, at last, decided to read it.
I picked up the tiny thin paged long book and read the tiny words in it. I was so happy, I finished each page with more excitement and when I finished the book, I reread it. I read it all Easter. Again and again and again. I repeated it and when the Easter holidays were over, I was madly in love with books. At school again, I went to the library and apologised to the librarian, gave her the book and asked if I could borrow one more. I promised to take care of it.
I borrowed a Jack and Jill book

I took care of it and kept it away from everything. I decided to be responsible and took it home with care, I read that book and by the time it was over, I was addicted to reading and there was a lush in my body for books.
Being a lonely child, books were my sole friends and my best friends too. Although I am a chill girl now but my childhood was very quiet and lonely.

These books filled up the tiny space of loneliness in my life and they became my life. I needed these books for my own creation because they made me strong and they filled the tiny void of my life.
You must think about why I am telling you this boring story. It’s just to show you that every reader has a story behind reading and every story has a great impact on a readers life. I don’t read for time pass or to fill a void in my life but because however many friends I make, books will always be my best friends. 🙂
