MONTHLY WRAP UP || BLOGGING CHALLENGE.

Challenges can be fun when you get them from one of your friends. This is a new challenge from https://proseandpancakes.wordpress.com. Nikita, the blogger wants to see how many books I read this month and now that I think of it, I am curious too. I really don’t remember because this month has been messy. 2 festivals, 2 books at the same time to review more and make my blog better for my fellow viewers. So allow me to go through my books and see if I have reviewed them.

Hello and welcome to my blog: Magical BookLush.

This blogging challenge is quite fun. I love reading and I love talking so I will be talking about reading today. Yeah, it’s going to be a headache for you but I hope you have a painkiller next to you.

So let’s start, shall we?

October was a fun month. I am doing 2 challenges this time of the year.

  1. 88 Classic books Challenge, this is a challenge where I read printed books and review all the classic books.
  2. A personal challenge, where I put myself and my love of books to test and push my comfort zone.
    1. I started reading ebooks.
    2. I have a NetGalley account.
    3. Mysteries and horrors are back in my life.
    4. I push myself to the extreme by reading comics and self-care books that make me sleep like a baby, just without a thumb in my mouth.
    5. I enjoy reading different genres.
    6. I talk to people. I am a very shy girl, outgoing yet shy. I don’t like talking to people but I made some good friends like
      1. Kim (https://cadburypom.wordpress.com)
      2. Pete (https://beetleypete.com)
      3. Stevie (https://steviet3.wordpress.com)
      4. Nikita, the challenger. (https://proseandpancakes.wordpress.com)
      5. And many more that are hard to mention because it’s a challenge of books not friends😁)

So let us seriously start, shall we?

Printed Books:

1. Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson.

Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson.

I had half completed this book in September but it ended in October so yeah finished book for classics challenge. The review is not out yet. It will be out this month. I enjoyed reading a new genre other than the usual ones.

Moral of the story: Push yourself to another level, there’s more beauty in this world. If you read books of the same genre every time, you will miss it, my friend.

2. 1984 by George Orwell.

1984 by George Orwell.

This book was a work of art that took me 5 days to finish. It was a beauty. I can’t believe it’s over. I want to reread it 10,000 times. It was for classics challenge. The review is out. Now you must be wondering that I finished treasure island first but I haven’t reviewed it but I finished 1984 and reviewed it instantly? Is treasure island bad? No, it isn’t. My last reviewed book on my blog was Animal Farm by George Orwell so I decided to add the next review of his book too.

Moral of the story: Some books do wonders to you but you can’t know that unless you read them and understand them. This world is full of books and stories if you can’t try all of them at least try different ones whenever you take a book in your hand. All that glitters is not gold and all those new books you try are not bad.

3. The Time Machine by H.G Wells.

The Time Machine by H.G Wells.

It was a very short read that I finished in 3 days. A book of 129 pages. This book made me realize that I have been reading very slowly. I used to finish a 100 pages in one sitting and now I can barely finish 30. This book made me use ebooks and NetGalley so kind of thankful to myself for starting this book. It was for classics challenge. The review is not out yet.

Moral of the story: All books have a story and all story tells you something. If you want to understand more about the world and yourself read everything you like but try everything that others like. It’s not bad to read different books, it’s hard to challenge yourself out of a specific genre. Don’t let your favourite genre become your weakness, make it your determination to try other genres and see what is different between them.

NetGalley Books:

1. Phantom echoes by B.D Wilson.

Phantom Echoes By B.D Wilson.

I read and reviewed this book. I decided to give myself a horror novel reward for trying new genres and getting out of my comfort zone. Besides I have been reading horror all my life, I know what makes people chilly so it was best for me to review my skilled genre than any other genre because I do not know them yet.

Moral of the story: When you achieve your goal give yourself a reward for trying hard and getting out of your comfort zone. It’s worth it because you deserve it.

Don’t review a genre you don’t know about. It can ruin an author’s years of hard work. When reviewing a book be sure you know what you are reading. Don’t hurt others for trying a new genre. That work means a lot to them.

2. Manga Classics: Stories of Edgar Allan Poe.

Manga Classics: The Stories of Edgar Allan Poe.

I read and reviewed this ebook that was in a comic book format. It took me 4hrs to read 367 pages. I rocked it!! 😁. It was so fun trying a new thing. Phew, I think I will try some more of it next month.

Moral of the story: Don’t be afraid to try something new. Life is fun if you make it hard and push it to an extent. Think about what you are doing, are you happy??

Kindle Ebooks:

1. Horror Stories by Scare Street.

Horror Stories by Scare Street.

I read and reviewed this ebook that was free on kindle. I am a huge fan of Ron Ripley and it contained some stories from his collection.

Moral of the story: Don’t be afraid to try free ebooks. They might actually turn out to be a wonder.

2. Halloween stories by Uncle Amon.

Halloween Stories by Uncle Amon.

It was for kids but I felt kiddish so I tried it. It was fun. Reviews will be out soon.

Moral of the story: Never be afraid to go back to the old times and behave like a baby. Don’t forget that’s the time when we started exploring the universe of books.

Current Reads:

1. The Power Of Your Subconscious Mind by Dr Joseph Murphy.

The Power of your Subconscious Mind by Dr Joseph Murphy.

I have finished about 78 pages of this book. I am going slow because the book is really peaceful that eventually makes me sleepy and is honestly interesting. It’s a gift and will be part of classics challenge reviews.

2. Bookmarked For Murder by V.M Burns ~ NetGalley.

Bookmarked For Murder by V.M Burns.

Just started it’s chapter 1 today. It has 297 pages so I will need some time to finish it. I hope to finish soon.
