BOOKS I HAVEN’T READ. || BLOGGING CHALLENGE.

We all love reading but being the human beings we are, we can’t read all the novels in the world, can we?? https://proseandpancakes.wordpress.com challenged me to write about the popular books I haven’t read. The books that everyone has read but I haven’t. So allow me to start embarrassing myself and give me 2 minutes to embrace myself because after this post I will definitely be kicked out of the official bookworm club. 😁

Please don’t unfollow me or throw a stone at your screen after you see my answers. Pretty please with a cherry on top.

Hello and welcome to my blog: Magical BookLush.

Popular Books:

These are the books that are found in every best books blog. Forget the genre, remember the book’s name and search it. It actually gets 5 stars every time someone reads it. That’s the kind of popular it is but me, the stupid me hasn’t read it.

This is a post where I would love to thank myself for keeping my address to myself because people can come home and murder me for this. Even my best friend can kill me if she finds out. You know we usually pretend that we have read these books, yes that’s what I do every time and I am not even ashamed doing it. I actually feel proud that I can manage to pull this off.

So without further chit-chat, let’s start today’s post (that might actually be my last post if someone decides to kill me), shall we??

1. A Popular Classic:

To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee.

Now, let me tell you the reason why I haven’t read this book yet and to be honest I am in no mood to read it for a few years. See, it is so because I have gone through racism, I know the pain. When we read a book, we feel the pain, we feel like we are the characters. Well, that’s how I read, don’t know about you. So I don’t want to feel that kind of pain again. That’s the reason why I removed it from my classics challenge. I need a rest but I will read it and that’s a promise.

2. A Popular Contemporary :

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.

I am not much into romantic novels but I want to read the fault in our stars. Why I haven’t read it?? Because I am doing classics challenge and I actually run away from teary romantic novels. It is in my TBR for a long time but I haven’t thought of buying it. I read romantic books if someone gifts me one. I actually have a plan to do a romantic challenge as soon as I am done with classics but that’s very far.

3. A Popular Book From Your Favourite Genre:

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. (Millennium I)

As you all know, I love thriller, crime drama, and horror. So here is my favourite genre’s book. This is a book by one of my favourite authors. I love Stieg Larsson, he is the master author in series writing. I have read only one book of this genius, The Girl who Played with Fire (millennium part II). Yes, I am crazy. I know that but the thing is I read this book in 2013. I didn’t know it had parts. When I opened the book I found out about it and I still read the book.

It’s been so many years but still, I cannot get over this novel. I love it so much but I haven’t read it’s first part yet. I want to read it soon. It’s sitting in my Goodreads TBR waiting for a review. Hope I read it soon.

A Popular Series:

In this challenge, I have 2 series that I haven’t read and wish to read 1 and don’t know if I should read the other, so it’s like a question for my viewers.

The Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) by George R.R Martin.

The Song of Ice and Fire, mostly known as Game Of Thrones is a great series that people have been reading a lot. It’s been in a lot of discussions since it’s final season came out. I haven’t read it or watched the series but I think I will do that soon. I have a tiny feeling of reading it. So let’s see maybe I will.

Book 2:

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer.

This is the topic that I wanted to ask you about. Should I read this book?? I am mostly a thriller novel reader and to be brutally honest I didn’t like the movies much except for Robert Pattinson (Edward). He is such a cutie, I love him. Ok, back to the track. I really feel like going for it then again I feel like no. I am confused, can you good people help me, please?

A Popular Fantasy:

Lord of the rings I, II, III and The Hobbit.

This is a book that I have not read or even watched the movie. Yes, you can scream at your screens. I am extremely sorry. But I was so engrossed in psychological thrillers and crime drama, I never thought of any other books but this is on my next buying list. I am trying to save up money for this honey. I hope it’s nice.

A Popular Book by Your Favourite Author:

The Woods by Harlan Coben.
Tell No One By Harlan Coben.

I could die for this man’s novels. I have read just one novel, hold tight but I swear I am so scared that I will never leave my child unsupervised even if it is 30 or 50 years old. Hold tight was a nightmare of every parent. It showed me how my parents felt about me and my security. I loved that novel so much, I don’t give it to anyone to read. It’s a great novel. I couldn’t stop talking about it when I finished reading it in 2015. I remember the years because I have noted them. 🙈 I want to try both of these and all of his other novels too. I love his work.

Ok, that’s it for today. I finished my challenge and I am waiting for results. Nikita, my results, please. Tell me about your favourite books and which one I should try first. Answer my question about twilight.

This challenge is open for everyone, just don’t forget to inform me about it so that I can get some more good reads too.

Like, share, follow and comment. I tried to change the setting and those who aren’t following me through email can also comment. I want to know every one’s view so try your best to comment.

Thank you for your valuable time.

  1. I love Harlan Coben as well! As far as the Twilight series goes, I liked the first book, but after that they steadily went downhill.

To Kill a Mockingbird is one of my favorite classics and the movie with Gregory Peck is phenomenal. I understand why you’d be hesitant to pick it up though after suffering from racism yourself. It’s a beautifully written book though.

I love the Song of Ice and Fire series and likewise Tolkien’s books.

    1. Yes, that’s why we are buddies. I love him sooooo much. Well that is what I expected from twilight long time back

I have heard of to kill a mocking bird too and a lot. It’s always in discussion everywhere but I just don’t have the guts to pick it up and read it. You can call me chicken if you want but I can’t.

I want to buy both of them. Saving money for Lord of the Rings and the hobbit. The song of ice and fire can wait until winter leaves😂. If you get the joke, tell me okay?

  2. Suzan, I’m so sorry you had to go through racism. No wonder you don’t feel ready to read To Kill the Mockingbird. I haven’t read that book either, though.

Also, I desperately need to see you reading romance novels 😜. Btw, can you guess which book I’m reading right now? I’m re-reading Twilight. It’s probably the third or fourth or fifth time I’m reading this book. That’s how crazy I am about it…but it’s not really that great.

Oh, btw, The Fault in Our Stars used to be my favorite book until five years ago. I had loved it so much at that time. I’m not so sure about it now.

    1. It’s okay but I need some time to get out of this mess. We are so alike. 😂

And I need to see you reading horror novels. Twilight looks okay. I will leave it for now.
You read horror I will read romantic. Is it a deal?

Why don’t u like it now?? What is wrong with it?? Should I read it?? That’s why I hate romantic stuff. 😒✌

      1. It sounds like an impossible challenge. Recommend me a good horror book though. 😰

No, I still like it. But it’s not my favorite anymore. I think it’s really predictable. Most of the people love it. I probably would have recommended it to you in 2013. Not sure anymore.

        1. It’s not. First, start reading thrillers then do horrors. That will make it less scary and more comfortable. I would recommend you start with a thriller named;

The core of Evil by Nigel McCrery. I might have uploaded a review about it. Let me check.

              1. YES! It’s a webtoon. It’s called Sweet Home. It has monsters I think. It’s described as a horror/thriller.

                1. Great. I am happy that you are enjoying the horror/thriller story. If you enjoy it, I will suggest you one book that I love a lot and it’s not very scary. 😂😈😜

                  1. Day 2. I’m still loving it. Waiting for your recommendation. 😜

                    1. First, finish this book and post the review. I will comment on that review your next must-read. I don’t want you all jumbled up. Finish all the 3 books first.

                    2. I should finish them asap then 😜

                    3. Yes, you should. I can’t let you read this with 2 books on your head. It’s one of my favourites. 🙄

  3. There are many popular books I have never read, and some of them are on your list.
I have never read anything by J.K. Rowling.
    Never read any ‘Twilight’ books.
Never read anything by Harlan Coben.
Never read ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ or any sequel.
Never read any ‘Game of Thrones’ books.

I would suggest you read the ‘Dragon Tattoo’ books in order though. Also that you read more of Charles Dickens, and some Jane Austen. (If you haven’t already) I heartily recommend ‘Rebecca’, by Daphne DuMaurier, ‘Strangers on A Train’, by Patricia Highsmith’, and ‘The Name of The Rose’, by Umberto Eco.
    Best wishes, Pete. 🙂

    1. Nice recommendations Pete. I have taken a screenshot. I will try them. I am going to try pride and prejudice and others soon. I actually bring romantic classics to twist my classics challenge and make it more exciting. 😁

I recommend to you an instant-read of :
      J.K Rowling books,
      Twilight.
HARLAN COBEN!!!!!! (unless you want to see my face curled just like Ollie’s tail and I curl it badly)
      Game of thrones.

I am not interested in fifty shades of grey. I have a lot more colourful series remaining. I will save it for some other idiot who I hate so that I can gift it to him/her. 😁😉✌

  4. When you consider that about 180,000 books are published each year in the UK the mind boggles. In ten years if you read one a day it would only amount to 3,650 . I dread to think how many blogs are penned it must be in the billions.
About one gigabits will hold Britannica if you fancy a good read into your old age , but remember to leave time for tennis.

    1. Wow, that’s great information, you know you should really write your own blog about all this stuff. It would be a great deal of help to the new generations. I would love to read more of this extravagant information. Besides time for daily chores and the size of the book makes it hard. 😁✌

      1. The information is there on the internet . We are very small cogs in the huge machine of civilisation. We are important to ourselves and a few who know us , but each leaf is important to the tree which may contain thousands.
None of us are really in a race but some are convinced they are.

        Liked by 1 person

        1. That’s so true. We are stuck in a race and we don’t even know why we are there. The way you write and others write is different. I seriously won’t go searching for info anywhere but if it’s you I will read. 🙂✌ think about it once.
