Have you ever gone through torture?? Felt the pain of sleepiness when you want to read but it’s not because you stayed up late, its because you have the worst book in your hand and you can’t tolerate it but unfortunately you are tolerating it because you don’t like keeping unfinished books? Welcome to my world buddy. Come let me take you to a ride through this disaster.

Hello and welcome to my blog: Magical BookLush.

This blog is just me ranting about a book that has made me sleep a gazillion times in the past 2 weeks.

I drank 4 cups of coffee each day to keep myself awake through it and I am just on page 21. I have made history in dozing off while reading a book. Just do the mathematics in how good I am going in spoiling my kidney by drinking 4 cups each day.

1 week=7 days.

2 weeks =14 days.

1 day =4 cups of coffee.

Total cups of coffee = 56

So that means I will kill my kidney sooner than expected.

I searched on Google for the answer and see what it showed me:

Goodbye people, I will meet you in hell.

I am sure you are dying to know this book’s name, aren’t you?

Let me tell you then. It is ;

The power of your subconscious mind by Dr Joseph Murphy. 😭😭😭😭

I went to Amazon to take a picture of this book, trying to look professional, well see what I found:

Well, it’s not actually their fault, but I fall asleep every time I read it. This is not a joke or a lie people. I swear this book makes me sleepy. This book is educative and peaceful too.

Peace is something I haven’t experienced in a while so maybe that’s why I fall asleep.

Now to why I am still reading this book if it’s boring.. That’s because

It’s a gift.

It’s a gift from my childhood best friend Iram. I love her and don’t want to hurt her feelings, she reads only this kind of books and wanted me to try too. Well, I say yes to try and I am trying to finish the tiring thing. It’s so hard. Yes, it’s a great bookπŸ˜’ but I feel sleepy.

Wish me luck and tell me if you have ever gone through such sleepy books. By the way, I have never dozed off while reading a book. Now I can check that off on my bucket list a thousand times.

Tell me your stories and please join my campaign again body shaming by posting it everywhere. Tell people about it and use #getlostbodyshamers to tell me your stories of body-shaming.

Thank you for your valuable time.

  1. Normally you should always stop reading any article or book that holds no interest but this is a little more complex as your friend is involved.
I suspect it’s one of those self help books and there are millions of them because nearly everyone claims to need help. My suggestion is skim the book and gently remind your friend that it’s not really your type of book but thank her for sending it.

    1. You are right but you didn’t read properly, she is my childhood best friend. That woman will skin me alive, cut my body into pieces, sautΓ© them and then give them to her neighbour’s dog like a Halloween treat for him. Or she will half murder me and bury me while I am breathing. She is my best friend and that mama takes no excuses or reminders, every now and then she reminds me who the boss is and it’s her. I am not terrified of God as much as I am terrified of her. The good thing is she doesn’t read my blog so I can rant here.😊✌🀯🀒

  2. I checked the good Doctor and the title of one book was enough to make it absolutely certain that I would never read his books. It was about gaining wealth and such manuals are designed to appeal to the grosser sides of our nature ; ambition for our own gain.

    1. I am reading his book. It’s actually not that bad. What I did was google how to read self-care books without falling asleep and it told me to read out loud so now I try to read out louder. πŸ™„ its good English practice.πŸ˜’

  3. I feel your pain. For me it was 50 Shades of Grey. I’m still traumatized!

    1. I am really sad you had to feel my pain. I haven’t read any of those novels of 50 shades of grey. I hope this trauma goes away soon and you don’t have to go through any more of it. Btw the book isn’t so bad after I started reading it like a 2-year old giving an English oral exam.πŸ˜’πŸ™‚βœŒ
